- Tests real-world response, coordination, and communication.
Volunteer Role & Benefits
- Act as a simulated patient, bystander, or evacuee.
- Help responders practice lifesaving skills in realistic conditions.
- No special skills needed — just enthusiasm and willingness to participate.
- Great way to support community preparedness and see emergency operations up close.
What is Moulage?
Moulage is a technique used in medical and emergency training to create realistic simulations of injuries, wounds, or medical conditions using makeup, wax, and other materials. It involves applying artificial blood, bruises, burns, lacerations, and other trauma effects to training mannequins or live actors to create lifelike scenarios for healthcare professionals to practice their assessment and treatment skills.
Some volunteers might be asked to use moulage but it is not required to participate. During sign up you can check yes or no.
