On behalf of the men and women of the University of Kentucky Police Department, I want to welcome and thank you for visiting the Police Department's website. Our agency is an accredited police department committed to providing the highest level of quality police services and promoting a safe and secure campus for students, employees, patients, and guests.

Our department is committed to the concept of community policing and works diligently to develop and maintain partnerships with campus organizations, groups, and individuals for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the campus community. I believe strongly in collaboration with our partners to reduce crime and enhance the services that the department provides.

Our agency works very hard to build a strong trust with the community. We have a professional organization that is filled with well trained men and women who truly care about their jobs and the community that we serve and selflessly accept the tremendous responsibility entrusted to them as public servants. I continually challenge our staff to improve and grow and be accountable for our actions.

The University of Kentucky Police Department offers many resources and programs to compliment the law enforcement initiatives of the department. I encourage you to take the time and explore this information contained on our website. Some of the initiatives and programs that I would like to highlight include the Citizen's Police Academy, S.T.A.R.R. self defense classes, and our Departmental Facebook page.

To demonstrate my commitment to continuous improvement, enhanced communication, and operational transparency, I initiated the Coffee with the Chief program and community safety forums to solicit feedback from members of the campus community.

It is my philosophy that leadership involves learning from yesterday's mistakes, analyzing today's achievements, and preparing for tomorrow's challenges. I strongly believe that every aspect of an organization's performance is a reflection of its leaders' thinking, behavior, and ability to communicate and execute the vision.
