MGT-404: This course emphasizes the unique aspects of response to an incident occurring during a sports/special event, including considerations for business continuity and after-action activities. You will learn the skills necessary to effectively manage an incident by applying and implementing a multi-disciplinary management team approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). At the end of the course a practical application exercise can be customized to the facility where the course is held.
Planning for Disaster Debris Management

Disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and floods can create enormous volumes of debris. Debris can hinder response and recovery efforts, cause costly delays, and pose significant logistical challenges. Debris management can be extremely complex, creating, testing, and training to a pre-disaster debris management plan specific to the area is key to successful operations.
This eight-hour management-level course is designed to enable participants to identify debris management components and the best planning practices using existing plan examples and case studies. Participants will also draft an outline of a debris management plan. MGT-460 Planning for Disaster Debris Management provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to create pre-disaster debris management plans for their own communities.
Sport & Special Event Evacuation & Protective Action

MGT-412: This course helps sport and special event managers prepare and/or enhance their event action plan through incorporation of flexible and scalable protective measures. These measures can be used in isolation or in response to a larger, multi-agency response initiative. This innovative course helps venue operators, first responders, emergency managers, law enforcement, contractors, promoters, and owners of events to collaborate on evacuation and sheltering plans with actionable decision criteria that can be adapted for almost any event.
L-146 Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP)

Student Criteria: The prerequisite is ICS-120.c (Introduction to Exercises). IS-130 (Exercise Evaluation and Improvement Planning) is recommended to everyone taking this course.
Course Description: The HSEEP Training Course is an intermediate-Level training course that incorporates exercise guidance and best practices from HSEEP Volumes. Throughout the course, participants will learn about topics including exercise program management, design and development, conduct, evaluation and improvement planning. The HSEEP training Course is an interactive course that allows participants to share personal lessons learned and best practices while gaining practical experience. In addition to the Instructor-led course presentations, the course includes small group activities, videos, and group discussions. The course also provides overviews of HSEEP-related initiatives such as technology and capabilities-based planning (e.g. Target Capabilities List [TCL]). This blended approach will give participants hands on experience that readily translates to real world exercise skills. Activities include creating exercise documentation, conducting exercise planning conferences and briefings and practicing exercise evaluation.

MGT-466: This course brings first and emergency responders, government, and commercial facilities professionals together to prepare or enhance risk management and assessment programs. The course introduces methodologies designed to complement and expand on national critical infrastructure framework guidelines. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience.

MGT-467: This course brings planners, operators, public information professionals, government, public safety, and marketing professionals together in an effort to prepare and/or enhance venue and event communication programs. The course prescribes best practices to common communication pitfalls and provides flexible and scalable solutions to a wide-range of scenarios. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience.
Master Public Information Officer
September 28-October 2, 2026
MPO: Master Public Information Officer course moves from the tactical to the strategic level of media and brand management. Participants will spend 4 ½ days exploring the business model of media engagement, take a deeper dive into cultivating a brand image through internal and external communications, and learn how to proactively pitch stories in today’s 24/7 news environment.
Prerequisite: This class builds on concepts learned in the FBI-LEEDA Media and Public Relations class, therefore, students must have completed the MPR class prior to enrolling in the Master PIO class.
