Sport & Special Events Risk Management and Planning

October 2-3, 2025

AWR-167: This course is designed to develop capabilities for multi-agency collaboration pertaining to sport and special event safety and security. Through activity-based training modules, participants will enhance their ability for planning, risk assessment, training, and exercising practices specific to conducting sport and special events. The expectation is for participants to return to their respective organizations and coordinate the development of a sport and/or special event risk management and planning process.

ISC-300

ICS-300 provides an in-depth focus on the NIMS Incident Command System (ICS) that includes the tools, practices, and procedures that are available in ICS to effectively manage emergency incidents or planned local events at a local Type 3 level. Expanding upon ICS-100 and -200, this course ensures that responders understand the basic ICS concepts that allow an incident management organization to expand and contract as needed to fit the incident and maintain its operational effectiveness.

Sport & Special Event Incident Management

January 14-15, 2026

MGT-404: This course emphasizes the unique aspects of response to an incident occurring during a sports/special event, including considerations for business continuity and after-action activities. You will learn the skills necessary to effectively manage an incident by applying and implementing a multi-disciplinary management team approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). At the end of the course a practical application exercise can be customized to the facility where the course is held.

MGT-412: This course helps sport and special event managers prepare and/or enhance their event action plan through incorporation of flexible and scalable protective measures. These measures can be used in isolation or in response to a larger, multi-agency response initiative.
